KNDF’S 2 Years Annual Conflict Report

From 31st May of 2021, during the two years of Karenni Nationalities Defense Force’s establishment, 6 Strategy Units and 22 battalions were formed, deployed all over the Karenni State and Southern Regions of Shan State; are defending our people against SAC’s terrorist military troops.Over (1000) battles have occurred and over (2,065) of SAC’s Troops were eliminated by KNDF and Resistance forces, (41) were captured alive.

Starting from May 2021, the SAC has conducted offensive operations using (5) Light Infantry Divisions including 66th LID, 99th LID, 101St LIDs,2nd Military Operations Command (MOC-2), 7th Military Operations Command (MOC-7). MOC-7, MOC-2, 66* LID were deployed at southern Shan state and along the borders of Shan-Kayah. In Loikaw and Demoso, resident battalions and 66* LIDs were deployed. In East of Demoso, Bawlekhe and in Phruso, as well as resident battalions and 9gth LIDs, MOC-2 and 101st LIDs were conducting Offensive Column. In this 4
Divisions of military units, most battalions under 66th LID had suffered intense casualties, leaving them with incomplete/disintegrated formations. To reinforce the 66th LID, 99th LID and MOC-2 were used to conduct offensive operations.

In Karenni, Loikaw is the only town under SAC’s Administration system and battleground townships like Demoso, Hpruso and Bawleke were completely deserted or left with the SAC’s battalions and their families. Although the SAC’s troops are present in the remaining townships, mostly they are under the administration of Ethnic Armed Forces. Most of the Regions/Townships, except the ones under SAC’s administration, are under the control of their respective Karenni Resistance Forces and PDFs.

During the two-year period, the most number battles broke out in Demoso Township, and a total of (340) times. In addition, in Loikaw Township (162) times, (113) times in Hpruso Township. (170) times in Phekhon Township, (2) times in Phasawng Township, (4) times in Maese, (22) times in Shar Taw and (67) times in Bawleke Township.

A total of (152) civilians were killed by SAC’s Artillery shelling, Air Strike and executions. (162) civilians were injured. Also (422) civilian houses, (16) religious buildings, 2 pagodas, (6) schools and (10) Clinics were destroyed by Artillery shelling, Air Strikes and Arson Attacks.

SAC’s forces committed (2) mass killings of civilians, including monks, in Karenni State and southern Shan State, and committed arrests, torture and killings. The SAC’s blatantly violating war crimes by targeting civilians, international laws that every armed force should abide by and committing crimes against humanity.

During the 2 years of the revolution, (153) soldiers from the KNDF were killed while fighting against the SAC’s troops. KNDF recognizes the fallen soldiers as Karenni national martyrs and salutes them in history. It means that we will continue to fight until the revolution succeeds by swearing an oath to all fallen martyrs.
